Great job Mike
A motivational method that actually works! And, of course, it meshes well with the Sandler methodologies as a whole.
There can be many disconnects between management and employees, this contains some good psychology on getting your employees motivated properly. Everyone gets motivated for their reasons, and managements reasons to increase sales may not be the same as an employees reasons.
This was a quick read with a lot of "AHA" moments. Whether you are familiar with Sandler concepts or not this book is a great read for anyone struggling with getting more out of their staff. For someone relatively new to managing staff this helped show me why the traditional motivational concepts and techniques can be ineffective and costly but also provide alternatives that are easy to understand and if implemented correctly highly impactful. This was a a completely new way for me to look at motivation on an individual level and get beyond the usual employee rewards (or consequences) and into the "why" they do what they do on a very personal level.
Full disclosure I am a Sandler Trainer and have been one for 22 years. Mike's book does a great job of taking us through the key motivator's for our team. It is well written with tons of VERY TANGIBLE takeways. The appendixes by themselves are incredibly valuable. Motivation is an area that most manager's struggle with and Mike has broken it down both into science and art. This book will be in my client's hands. It is well worth the read.
We will be implementing these ideas into our management training.
